Tanya Ogilvie-White is Research Director and Associate Professor at the Centre for Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament (CNND) at the Australian National University, Canberra. She began her career at the Mountbatten Centre for International Studies, UK, working with one of the world’s leading experts on the nuclear nonproliferation regime, Professor John Simpson, OBE. Since then, she has developed expertise across all aspects of nuclear disarmament, nonproliferation, and security. Before joining CNND, she was a senior analyst at the Australian Strategic Policy Institute, Canberra; Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, London; and senior lecturer in international relations at the University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. She is an international advisor to the New Zealand Centre for Global Studies, a member of the Council on Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific, Associate Editor of the U.S.-based journal Asian Security, and Asia-Pacific representative of the Fissile Materials Working Group. She is coeditor of Slaying the Nuclear Dragon: Disarmament Dynamics in the Twenty-First Century (with David Santoro; University of Georgia Press, 2012) and author of On Nuclear Deterrence: The Correspondence of Sir Michael Quinlan (IISS/Routledge, 2011).
