Suzanne Romaine is Professor Emerita at the University of Oxford. Her research interests include linguistic diversity, multilingualism, language death and revitalization, and language change and contact. She was a member of the UNESCO Expert Group that produced Education in a Multilingual World (2003). Her books include Vanishing Voices: The Extinction of the World’s Languages (with Daniel Nettle, 2000).
