After covering local and state government and politics for The Washington Post and serving as White House correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, Michel Martin spent 14 years at ABC News. She was a correspondent for Nightline and won an Emmy for reporting on the international campaign to ban the use of landmines. In 2006, she joined NPR, where she has been an important contributor to many programs and created one of her own (Tell Me More) which focused on emerging issues of identity, diasporan communities broadly defined, emerging economies, and other issues . Bringing a wide range of reporting skills to NPR, she is one of public radio's most respected and admired voices.
