Mark is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ including oversight of the nomination and election process, finance and administration, human resources, facilities, information technology, and catering operations. In addition, Mark serves as the lead staff member facilitating the work of the governance bodies and committees of the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ.
Before joining the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ, he held the position of chief operating officer for the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. He also enjoyed a 26-year career with the American Red Cross, working last as the chief operating officer with ARC of Mass Bay in Boston. During this time, he filled the position of interim CEO from January 2001 through January 2002, leading the local unit through its response in support of the families of victims of the September 11 attacks. Before coming to Boston, he was the national Vice President of Chapter Operations at the Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, DC, and also held other leadership positions in the Red Cross. He holds a BA from the University of Vermont.
