Kravis is a prominent philanthropist and an economist specializing in public policy analysis and strategic planning. She is currently serving as President of the Board of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Associated with think-tank Hudson Institute since 1973, she directed Hudson's Corporate Environment Program and the Europe and the World study and has worked on studies of the economic development of countries such as Algeria, Morocco, France, and Mexico. She was also Executive Director of the Hudson Institute of Canada. Kravis is currently Vice Chair of the Hudson Institute's Board. She is vice-chair of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Chair of the Sloan Kettering Institute. Her philanthropy has focused on the arts, health and medicine, and education. In 2015 the Kravises gave $100 million to Rockefeller University to create the Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Research Building. In 2013, a gift of $100 million led to the creation of the Center for Molecular Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering.
