Linda Greenhouse is Knight Distinguished Journalist in Residence and Joseph Goldstein Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. She is a graduate of Radcliffe College and received a Master of Studies in Law (MSL) degree from Yale Law School. She was a reporter for the New York Times from 1968 to 2008, serving as the newspaper's Supreme Court correspondent for nearly 30 years. Among other major journalism awards, she received a Pulitzer Prize in Journalism in the category of beat reporting in 1998. Currently, she writes a twice-monthly op ed column on the Supreme Court for the New York Times web site, for which she is a contributing writer. She is the author of four books: The U.S. Supreme Court: A Very Short Introduction; Becoming Justice Blackmun (a biography of Harry A. Blackmun), Before Roe v. Wade: Voices That Shaped the Abortion Debate Before the Supreme Court's Ruling (with Reva B. Siegel); and The Burger Court and the Rise of the Judicial Right (with Michael J. Graetz).
