Sir Lawrence Freedman is an influential author of numerous scholarly books and articles on international relations and international security. At King’s College London, he ran a world-renowned strategic studies program and trained a generation of British and International scholars, soldiers, and public servants starting in 1982. Freedman was awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 1996 and the Knight Commander of St Michael and St George (KCMG) in 2003. He was appointed Official Historian of the Falklands Campaign in 1997 and served as a member of the official inquiry into Britain and the 2003 Iraq War.
