Haidt has contributed seminal work in many areas, including the psychology of morality, positive psychology, cultural psychology, and the nature of civil discourse. He has written powerful books, including especially The Righteous Mind (2012), praised for its original contributions and insights into the values of liberals and conservatives, and also The Coddling of the American Mind (with Greg Lukianoff), which chronicles how "good intentions and bad ideas" are causing problems for Generation Z (born after 1995), and for American universities.
