E.J. Dionne, Jr. is a journalist for The Washington Post, who analyzes American politics and trends of public sentiment, and a Senior Fellow for the Brookings Institution. He works at the intersection of journalism and scholarship with an expertise of community and civil society, US elections, politics, polling, faith-based initiatives, ideology, journalism, role of religion in public life, and public opinion. After graduating from Harvard University for his B.A. and Balliol College for his D.Phil., Dionne began his journalism career with The Washington Post and then The New York Times as a correspondent for both. Currently, Dionne also works as a University Professor at the McCourt School of Public Policy, Senior Research Fellow at Saint Anselm College, and commentator for PBS, MSNBC, and NPR. The author of six books, Dionne’s most recognized work, Why Americans Hate Politics, won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in 1991. Some other works include They Only Look Dead: Why Progressives Will Dominate the Next Political Era, and Stand Up Fight Back: Republican Toughs, Democratic Wimps, and the Politics of Revenge.
