Op-Ed Columnist, Political Analyst. Since 2003 has written an Op-Ed column in The New York Times. Formerly, a senior editor at The Weekly Standard and a contributing editor at Newsweek and the Atlantic Monthly, is currently a commentator on The Newshour with Jim Lehrer. He is the author of Bobos In Paradise: The New Upper Class and How They Got There (2000) and On Paradise Drive: How We Live Now (And Always Have) in the Future Tense (2004). His book The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement (2011), which was a number one New York Times best seller. In 2004, Brooks created the "Sidney Awards" to honor the best political and cultural journalism of the year. In 2013, Brooks taught at the Jackson Institute of Global Affairs at Yale University on philosophical humility.
