Andy Craig

Andy Craig is a fellow in election policy at the Joseph H. Rainey Center. His work is focused on election law and electoral reform, along with the political philosophy of liberalism, pluralism, and democracy. He is the author of the report Counties and Representation in the Wyoming Legislature, examining the potential for proportional representation at the state level. His analysis and recommendations for reforming the Electoral Count Act have been cited by members of both parties on the floor of the House of Representatives and in the Senate Rules Committee. He has worked with state legislators across the country to craft electoral reform proposals and adopt best practices for election administration.

Craig was previously a fellow at the Institute for Humane Studies and an adjunct scholar at the Cato Institute. He has also worked as a campaign staffer and consultant, including for Gov. Gary Johnson's 2016 presidential campaign.

His work has appeared in outlets including the Washington Post, Fox News, The Nation, Politico, The Daily Beast, and Libertarianism.org, and he is a regular columnist for The UnPopulist, published by the Institute for the Study of Modern Authoritarianism. He grew up in White Hall, Arkansas and studied political science at Hendrix College.
