OCP Communities
An initiative to highlight local examples of innovation and to support leaders committed to building a healthy local democracy.
With politics at the national level increasingly polarized and dysfunctional, it is easy to be cynical about the future of representative government in America. Looking at the local level, however, reveals a very different story. From coast to coast, in red states and blue, America’s cities and towns are adopting improve representation, and build bridges across cultural and political divides. These changes benefit communities and they also stand as examples of what is possible for policymakers at the state and federal level.
With the Our Common Purpose Communities Project, the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ aims to spotlight the work of these local leaders. OCP Communities commit to work toward advancing one or more of the recommendations in the Our Common Purpose report. As an OCP community, they gain the opportunity to learn from the Çï¿ûÊÓƵ’s extensive network of champions and other and other experts to enhance their current efforts and help them find new ways to build a healthy local democracy.
