The San Diego Program Committee held a discussion exploring the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic, the structure of the virus, and how viral variants challenge the global vaccine effort. The panel featured Dr. Robert “Chip” Schooley, an expert on infectious disease and global health at the University of California San Diego, in conversation with colleagues Dr. Rommie Amaro, professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and Dr. Natasha Martin, an infectious disease economic modeler.
