21st Century Challenges and Opportunities for Humanitarian Health Responses
The Ƶ partnered with the International Peace Institute (IPI) to explore ideas from the Spring 2023 issue of æ岹ܲ, “Delivering Humanitarian Health Services in Violent Conflicts.” IPI and the Ƶ cohosted the hybrid forum on opportunities and risks at the intersection of health, development, and peace. Panelists discussed the challenging global context for delivering humanitarian health responses, including the need to address gender-based violence and the imperative to localize humanitarian action.

“Delivering Humanitarian Health Services in Violent Conflicts” is the Spring 2023 issue of æ岹ܲ, the Journal of the American Ƶ of Arts and Sciences. The open access publication is a product of the Ƶ’s project on Rethinking the Humanitarian Health Response to Violent Conflict. Its essays, art, and literary works are available here.
This event convened academics, scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to explore challenges to humanitarian health delivery explored in the æ岹ܲ volume and recommendations for addressing these challenges in the future.
